Amigos de Animales is a small but dedicated group of volunteers working tirelessly to rescue, protect, and care for animals in need. Far too often, unwanted animals are dumped in Vilcabamba and left to fend for themselves. But we refuse to look away.
We rescue dogs and cats that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. But our work goes beyond the animals—we help people too. Many of our veterinary costs come from assisting elderly individuals, single mothers, and struggling families who can’t afford urgent medical care or sterilization for their pets. Without our support, they would be overwhelmed by the burden of unwanted litters and sick animals.
